How do I apply for the Aspiring Scholars Program?
To begin the online process, go to https://tuitionportal.fbtonline.com to set up your User Id and Password on the First Bank and Trust portal. Be sure to know the submission deadlines.
From the Dashboard, click on the “Financial Aid Tab” and then click on the “Aspiring Scholars Application” link to start your application. You will be prompted to answer the Eligibility Questionnaire first to determine if your family meets the qualifications for the Aspiring Scholars Program. Based on your answers to the questionnaire, you will either receive a message that states that you are not eligible to proceed with the application, or you will be prompted to proceed with your application.
From the “Documentation” page, you will be required to upload the required documents through a secure online process. Documents may also be faxed to First Bank and Trust, to the attention of “Financial Aid Processing” at (504) 620-1450.
From the “Payment” page, you will be required to enter your bank’s routing number and account number to process the non-refundable $40.00 application fee.
Once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email from FBT. If additional information or documentation is required, you will be contacted by a bank representative at the email address or phone number you provided on your application.
Once the review of your application has been completed, your information will be forwarded to the Aspiring Scholars team. Applications are considered on a first come, first served basis and students enrolled in private school during the previous school year as part of the Louisiana Scholarship Program are eligible to apply for a scholarship under the Tuition Donation Credit Program and are given a priority over new applicants. However, students are not able to receive funding from both programs for the same school year.
