Aspiring Scholars has been approved to operate as a School Tuition Organization (STO) by the Louisiana Department of Education beginning in the 2020-2021 school year. Aspiring Scholars will administer the Tuition Donation Credit (TDC) Program with a goal of providing scholarship assistance to qualifying low to moderate income families seeking a Catholic education.
The Tuition Donation Credit Program empowers Louisiana families with the financial resources to choose the school that will best prepare their children for college and careers. This program provides credits to Louisiana state taxpayers that donate to STOs like Aspiring Scholars that provide scholarships to students in qualifying families.
To be eligible for a scholarship from Aspiring Scholars, students must have a family income that does not exceed 250% of the federal poverty line and must be entering kindergarten, currently enrolled in a Louisiana public school, or enrolled in the Louisiana Scholarship Program. Students will apply directly to Aspiring Scholars for scholarships when the Louisiana Department of Education opens the application window in Spring 2020. Once a student receives a scholarship, students then apply directly to one of the nonpublic schools partnered with the STO for enrollment.
Aspiring Scholars is a 501(c)3 organization owned by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
